In September of 2023 - An independent researcher at the University of Cambridge, discovered evidence of a chemical compound known as Dimethyl Sulfide on a far away planet - the catch however - is that it is only produced by life here on Earth, and as of the day of writing this fact has only been backed up by the James Webb telescope - further confirming the presence of this compound at this far away shore.
Its not a smoking gun though!
In situations like theses, practicing skepticism is crucial, to ensuring that no errors are made in the scientific process. I believe that the next steps to find are to discover if producing this compound through non-organic means is possible here on earth - and therefore unmasking a higher likely-hood of ensuring whether or not the discovery is valid.
As the researcher says himself - the concentration of the compound is far higher then it has ever been here on Earth and as such whatever is happening there can either be an indication of A LOT of life, or some other process we simply don't understand yet. Regardless this is another fantastic discovery in the story of mankind, and I cant wait to see where this lead takes us!
